Hooria Jazaieri, M.A., MFTI (IMF 64082) is a Stanford University researcher and Marriage and Family Therapy Intern who received her Master's degree from Santa Clara University and is currently supervised by Robin Yeganeh, Ph.D., (PSY 21202) at the Cognitive Behavior Therapy & Mindfulness Center in San Ramon, California.
At the center, she holds office hours from Friday through Sunday for the treatment of children, teens, adults, and couples. Hooria has over 5 years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, groups, families, and children. Her areas of interest and expertise include: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), couples, marital, premarital, and divorce counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, anxiety, and depression.
In addition to her clinical work, Hooria conducts research at Stanford University as a member of Dr. James Gross' Stanford Psychophysiology Laboratory. She is part of the Clinically Applied Affective Neuroscience group where she examines how functional neuroimaging (fMRI) can be used to better understand the effects of emotion regulation and brain functioning in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and CBT with patients who experience social anxiety.
Hooria has been co-leading DBT skills training groups for over 2 years and is a volunteer at the Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education at Stanford. She has completed intensive training in DBT from Dr. Marsha Linehan and currently attends a weekly, intensively-trained DBT Consultation Team meeting. Hooria also attends weekly CBT training and supervision groups at Stanford University. Additionally, Hooria has co-authored numerous articles, research publications, and book chapters in the areas of neuroscience, emotion regulation, mindfulness, compassion, and anxiety.
